Day 23 – Exercises continue
I continue with the exercises five times a day. Normally when I start something I finish it very quickly at the speed of over 100 miles an hour typically. But these exercises require patients which is a virtue unknown to me. I have to really focus and look back four days to see the small improvements I make today. I keep expecting to wake up in the morning and be able to move my fingers all the way up or all the way down. I expect to wake up in the morning and have the pain go away. None of this is happening. However there are some improvements which I will try to explain below.
My fingers must becoming more nimble since they are the ones reach into my thumb for the thumb to finger exercises. My thumb can now touch all fingers or perhaps I should say all fingers can touch my thumb. I think that my thumb is the major problem at the moment since it is very very swollen and feels like one big hard piece of meat. It acts like a leather belt holding back my movements. I still cannot find the tool to measure the angles of how my fingers open but I intend to go to Staples today and perhaps something in a geometry set will do.
My doctor has prescribed another type of painkiller that I can take at night before bed so that I can get a good night sleep. This worked amazing.
I’d like to take a moment to say that my family Dr. Ingram Crooks is the best doctors to have on your side!
I still have pain in my fingers and in my wrist and under skin where the stitches are. So I now take one super Tylenol and one super Advil every four hours except I take two Apo-Tramado/Acet 325/37.5 mg before bed with one Advil. This has helped me sleep all night.
